I don't know if anyone has thought about it before, but our life's are like scrapbooks! When I start a page, I have pictures, paper, glue, embellishments..lots of elements that don't really add up to much all by themselves, but when I'm finished they make a beautiful page, full of memories for me! Pictures are memories..like remembrances of the things God has done for us! I use paper as a background..it's awesome, because God doesn't care what our backgrounds are, He can use anyone! He prefers those of all different backgrounds, because it completes the church, just as the right paper totally completes my pages! The glue is very important, without it everything would fall right off, it wouldn't stay in its place..God is our "glue", without Him we would be a mess...not knowing our place. We all have a place we are supposed to be. I don't mean a location, some people are involved in worship, some are there to worship, when everything is its place things look so beautiful! The embellishments are usually the most fun! I love going to stores that sell scrapbook stuff to just look at the embellishments available, there are so many! It takes time to find just the right ones. I think embellishments in the spirit are the fruits of the spirit, they compliment our "pages" That is the purpose of an embellishment, to compliment, not over power. Choose your "embellishments" wisely they can either add or subtract from what God wants you to be! Next, when my page is all finished I add my journaling, my story..God is the author and finisher of our faith...He is the one who needs to write the story for us! He knows what He wants every aspect of our life to be! When a page is finished, I like to just look at it, and usually I start to recall every detail, and relive the memories. I bet God does the same when He completes one of our "pages"!! Every page I do is not about a happy event, it may be one that is sad too. A tribute to someone who has passed..etc.. Not every page in our "scrapbook" will bring happy memories it may be about that hard trial you faced, but you know God wants us to remember them all, because they bring us strength! Just know we can try and complete our own "pages" , but without Him, nothing is ever complete! So the next time you get out your supplies to scrapbook, remember God is the master of scrap booking...when He does your "pages" they are always done right...and When the time comes for your life to be through, it'll be a beautiful "scrapbook" in the sight of God, because He did the work!
