I have to admit I found myself depressed a few weeks ago (I don't like to admit that but it may help you understand the rest of this entry and it's importance to me) I was going through a tough time that any single young person probably goes through, wondering if I would ever get married etc.

But later that day as I was reading my Bible I read a portion of Psalms 1:3-5 that changed my entire perspective. It simply says "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

I had to stop and let that sink in, as the Lord revealed to me how I can live a full and prosperous life.

I realised that every stage of our life is a 'season.' This concept is almost too simple and that is probably why we so often miss it.

At this stage in my life (young adulthood, single) I can fulfill a place in God that I will not be able to when I have moved on to another stage, it is unique to this time in my life. And during this time God has a plan that I "bring forth fruit." I am not meant to wait for what is to be, nor neglect trying to move foward, but I am to focus on His mandate for my life, using what I have to work with as of this very moment.

He is not waiting for me to get so focused on other things that I finally move on, but I am persuaded that when I focus completely on serving Him
and putting His kingdom first, then all of these "other things" will be added.

Today, I was talking to mom and she brought a scripture to my attention from II Corinthians, somewhere, that Paul talks about saints using their God given abilities to COMPLIMENT anothers weakness in that area, what a concept! I hope and pray that I can use the strong points in my life right now to help the body of Christ, to contribute what little I can, and know that when others do the same there is completeness.

I like the chorus of this song that was popular on the radio several years back:
Your my brother your my sister
So take me by the hand
Together we will work till He comes
Theres no foe that can defeat us
When we're walking side by side
As long as there is love
We will stand

It is simple but true if we use what we have been given in our seasons of life, we can bring forth fruit in OUR season, and even when we are in a time when we don't feel like we are contributing remember also that if we are walking uprightly before the Lord, our leaf does not whither, that means we are still alive and performing a function. (Leafs are VERY important to the earths ecosystem) And God isn't finished with us during these times, but often we will find that He is simply working through us by simply letting us be supportive saints, prayer warriors, and in our older years a voice of wisdom to the next generation.

My true desire today is that the Lord would give me the ability to see how I might bring forth fruit in this season of my life.
