- Respect the anointing of God behind the man. To many people put to much respect in a certain leader or mentor which is not a bad thing but what they need to understand is put your trust and respect in the anointing behind the man. Why is that?. Because that man is just that…a man. Flesh….carnal….too many people have put there trust in the leaders around them and fail to realize the danger in putting to much trust in a man. When one does that they are opening themselves up to a hard and long fall. What if that man in your life makes a decision, a decision to leave the church or the Truth or any other life changing decision that not only alters his future but the people underneath him, what will you do then?  I have seen to many good people follow thier leaders in circles or to spiritual dry land because they got caught up on the respect of the man and not the anointing behind the man. In doing so they become blind followers and don't realize how far they have followed or rather how far they haven't before it's to late. I am not promoting you to build up walls around your heart or to never respect the leaders over you but I am stressing that you keep things in perspective and understand for yourself where you stand. For when you begin to make your foundation, the place you stand, the place where all of who you are is built up from by the building of another man and not off of the building of God, then you have laid a sandy foundation. But I have laid mine off my pastor, my mentor, the man of God…that's great! But a man can change….but God never will….the anointing my be on him…but it can be lifted. Make yourself attentive and discern the spirit, and to do that you must have your own foundation. What do I mean by your own foundation? It is an understanding where you stand, not only in doctrine but most importantly in relationship. Don't worry yourself about what somebody else
does in his walk with God but keep your eyes on where your walking, for too often have people spent time looking at somebody else's walk with God while losing there own. It is hard to see where you're going when you're worried about where someone else is going. I am not rejecting love and care to people who may need some direction, help them if they need it, but I am talking about people over you. If you see, or feel something then pray for them, all the while maintaining your foundation, and not waiting for them to make a move so that you can make the same. I hope you do not misunderstand me today, I am not promoting any type of distrust of the leaders in your life nor am I promoting for anyone to become selfish in thought. I am promoting though, a life of respect for the anointing of God greater than the respect for the man that anointing may rest on, and more importantly, with this a personal foundation for oneself. I cannot stress that enough-A PERSONAL FOUNDATION- When I say "keep things in perspective" I am not saying to bottle up God or the power of the anointing in any way shape or form, but I do believe God has called us to live a life of order and not chaos. Not only in our natural life but more importantly in our spiritual life, and order for that to happen in our spiritual lives, it requires that we keep everything in a "Godly Perspective". What I mean by a Godly Perspective is take what decisions your leaders may be making back to The Word, if it measures up to truth then follow, if not then pray about what your next decision may be( don't just get up and leave). Now again, keep things in reality, I am not encouraging you to question every decision your leaders may be making nor even 95.5% of them, but what I am encouraging is that you be able to see with your own eyes and walk with your own feet. Respect the Anointing more than the man, but respect the man nonetheless for that is who God has placed over you, along with this understand where you stand spiritually and if all of this is taken into account you have nothing to worry about or fear when time of trouble or division may come your way.
