I’ve had bad days, and I’ve cried, whined, and complained. But my worst day was nothing compared to Job’s! He lost everything. In a single day, his health, wealth, and children were gone. He was overwhelmed. Who wouldn’t be?
Job questioned why. He struggled to comprehend the enormity of the tragedies that surrounded him. The Bible tells us how he survived.
He reached a conclusion that brought him peace. “He knoweth the way that I take” (Job 23:10). As long as God knew where He was, the grief and loss became bearable.
Job trusted God, and God responded by giving him twice as much as he had before.
Dear Lord, You are not far from any of us (Acts 17:27).
You know where we are, what we face, and every detail of our lives. Thank You for being there for us in the good times and the bad.
