You can't handle the truth!  A line made famous in a hollywood movie by Jack Nicholson, then taking a place in movie history moments.  Stand aside Tom Cruise, we all know you were standing for the truth but when you began to dig deep to find or defend it, you ruffled the feathers of Jack Nicholson. 

Truth has a way of ruffling feathers by bringing error into light and highlighting it's path.  Truth is not always welcomed.  Truth can cut deep and it can step on toes.  What one does with truth is up to the individual.

When one stands for truth, being that which is right, rest assured that there will always be people who would rather have you shut up or will attempt to shut you up rather than having to deal or face the consequences of truth.  I know, it sounds crazy but it is...well....the truth.

The Bible says that the message Jesus spread was not always popular.  Scripture tells us that you will be hated for His name sake, and his name sake being truth.  John 14:6 says He is the way and He is the truth.  If people hated Him, they will hate you when you stand for truth.

Anybody can tell lies.....anybody can stay silent and remained neutral....anbody can tell half truths or twisted truths so as to not shake the nest but it takes a real person to stand for truth in all it's glory.  However, be prepared for fall out and be prepared for harsh reactions when one stands.  There will come a swift angry response and it will hammer full strength.

Pietro Aretino says it this way....

"I love you, and because I love you, I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies."

I chose many years ago to stand for truth.  I chose to not be loved for being a yes man, a neutral mind or a brown nosing truth twister.  This means that I will not stand with the popular, I will not run in the clique, I will not be the first in line for positions in life and I will not always be in agreement with others.  This also means that I will have haters, I will draw detractors, I will have verbal threats made to me and sometimes, my stance will be twisted and rumors will be spread by shallow people to fetter there agenda to there weak mindset.

The greatest thing one can know in regards to truth is this...

Regardless of what lies are made about you for standing for it...

Regardless of what verbal assualt or threat is made....

Regardless of any physical exhaustion it may bring...

Rest assured....one thing is certain...

You have the One who IS truth standing next to you.  When they hate you, they hate Him, when they threaten you, they challenge Him and when they persecute you....they are attempting to hang Christ on the cross again.  Keep your head up...know that you are on the right path...whether standing for everyday truth or the truth of salvation, you are indeed on a lonely path in these endtimes.  God is with you though...He will not forsake you and He will not leave you comfortless.
