Scripture Text: ‘’Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God’’ (Psalm 20:7 KJV)
Peter’s faith was weak, doubting, and unstable at times. The definition for unstable is: wavering in purpose or intent (Merriam- Webster) The Word of God demonstrates many accounts where Peter’s faith was weak and unstable. In the Word of God it records, ‘’And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me’’.(Matthew 14:29,30) Jesus asked Peter to come to him and walk on the water. When Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, he began to sink in the water beneath him. Nothing is so drastic than falling in deep water. This happens in our everyday lives. We may have the doubting times like Peter experienced. Many times the experiences are so overwhelming, crushing, and hard to tolerate. Some of the troubles are from a hurtful situation from a close friend or a family member. The bills may be due, and the bill collectors are tormenting you with phone calls, but there’s no money in the bank to cover what you have owe. Maybe your child or a close family member is sick. I’m sure we may feel that the Lord doesn’t answer our prayers. Do we really trust the Lord to help us through our problems? Are you carrying some bad experience too long? Give to it to the Lord, and I will guarantee you this one: He will take care of it for you. There is an old hymn called ‘’Leave It There’’ By Charles A. Tindley. Charles had a friend who came to visit with him one day; his friend was a constant worrier. Charles told his friend ‘’ My
advice to you is put all your troubles in a sack, take ’em to the Lord, and leave ’em there.” The chorus to the song ‘’ Leave It There’’ is: ‘’Leave it there, leave it there, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there’’. Stay Encouraged!
Our words can be a motivator, whether we realize it or not, whether you mean to or not. Our words can bring life, or it can cause someone to take their own life. While we all still alive, let’s make our days count for something!- Lynne Conley My life consists of working full-time at a pharmaceutical company and teaching Sunday school (Kindergarten class) My desire is to encourage others. My writings aren’t fancy words, but they are from the Lord. So many people are hurting, and I want to help all I can while I am still alive. My passion is elderly people and those who are shut-ins. There is a nursing home, Carrington Place, in the next county from where I live. After working 8-10 hrs a day, I go and spend time with those who have no one or just to talk and hear their stories every Thursday after work. Every Thursday is Thankful Thursday to me. Because I am so Thankful for this great calling the Lord has given me.

As beautiful and promising as that hymm is, i think its one of those things that are easier said than done. Peter knew of the wonders of God, he knew that he could put his trust in God yet fleshly instincts told him to look at the water. All the same applies to us today. When Im scared about situations, when Im wondering where God is I follow my human instinct of worry and doubt and look at the problem instead of looking at Jesus. All the while if anyone of us just look and seek the lord when were struggling he will guide us. He will help us walk through the boisterous winds and walk through the waves. You just have to reach a point in your life where all you can do is trust him or you wont be able to make it on your own. Thanks for sharing.
