Great article Christine, very well written, and gives us all something to think about when it comes to thinking "I can't do anything to change it" God did give us free will, and His only hindrance is man. God will not go against man's will because it is our CHOICE to be saved or not to be saved, just as it is our choice to choose righteousness or not. We can pray that God saves our lost loved ones, but the ultimate decision is theirs to make, God will work on them, but still, the ultimate decision is theirs.

Christine - I agree with you that even though God has a perfect will and plan for the world, we should exercise the right which we still have today, to cast our vote for any office or any issue which will affect our future and the future generations to come. It's through God's mercies that we have that right. There are several stories in the Bible where God actually changed the course of events, or extended a time of grace because of the prayers and repentance of the people. Maybe America's time is up. The outcome of the votes prove that values are not what the majority are concerned with. America is in trouble. We are headed back into dependency and bondage. I hope those that didn't feel it was necessary to vote are praying like they've never prayed before. America, including the church, needs revival. - Mary

You know I wasn't going to respond to this article, but found that it is necessary. I too serve in multiple ministries at my church and also as a servant outside my church with domestic women shelter and also with abused children. I too am a woman and a christian that loves the Lord God with all my heart and believes that Jesus through his blood has given us the power persevere. I as a christian that believes in the sanctity of life and also believes that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. But also with compassion I looked at other issues like healthcare, education and jobs. I work in corporate america and see hundreds of thousands of people being "laid off" from their jobs and not being rehired, just to see the job moved across seas. I see struggling elderly not having enough money to pay their medical bills or those caring for their loved ones, not being able to have help because the subsidzed government agency lacks funds. I also see children that did well in school not have money to attend a university because thier parent only made 5.00 an hour or had to take out college loans to attend and when they completed college had loans the size of a car payment or a mortgage. So I know that all the issues I believe in were not going to be given by one candidate, but I voted based on love. God says love thy neighbor as thyself and I would love for people to have affordable healthcare and be able to take care of their loved ones. I would love to have children be able to attend school of thier choice and not be worried about a huge payment afterwards and also have to do community involement to earn it. I would love to see people be able to keep their jobs so they can afford the healthcare and also help their children pay for college. Our decision has to go beyond some issues and pray that God guides the rest.
My prayer is that I may not believe in all that the president of the US stands for but that God will first cover him and his family, and then secondly guide him in the way in which He wants him to go. I did this this with past presidents. But I applaud you for standing your ground. So just respect me for standing on mine. With love your sister in Christ |

What church do you go to that doesn't agree with voting? That's absurd. Surely not an apostolic one? My pastor encourages us all to vote. I would probably re-think what church I was going to if they told me not to vote. That's just insane. Good for you for taking your stand. Our votes DO count. Otherwise, they wouldn't pay millions to get them from us.

I do believe in voting, but I also believe in being obedient to the ministry set over us. First and foremost, if the pastor has standards for the church GOD has entrusted him with - it is not anyone else's decision to go against those standards or to "changes churches" because of a disagreement. It is IMPORTANT to stand for and to stand by the standards your pastor has set for his ministry - whether or not anyone else agrees or not. God will honor our obedience!
Yes, our votes do count - but God is in control and the leader of this United States will be who God wants it to be - despite our votes or not. He rose pharoh up in the time of Moses - man didn't need to make that happen. Again, I do believe in voting - but I believe in being obedient to the leadership placed over me more! |

I totally agree with you. So many people just sit and don't do anything. God has called us at such a time as this to stand our ground. To proclaim his word, that sin is still sin, and that his return is coming soon and we need to be ready for that day. I can honestly say that as my first time to vote, even though the person I wanted to win didn't win, I still felt empowered knowing that I did my job and my part. It's time for the saints of God to rise from their sleep and stop letting the very liberal ideals of the world scare them into silence. Now is the time to fall on our knees and tell as many people about the goodness of the Lord and help save a soul! I believe God is calling us to rise up and shout to the nations of his soon return! It's time to get ahold of ourselves and focus on what's really important. Jesus, wake the church from her silence!

Horray for you lady! I believe that you should be verbly and opinionated and speak as God made us all differently and that is how he uses us in his work. I applaud you for stepping out and doing what we are supposed to do as to maintain till his coming. God Bless those who did! Wonder what would have happened if if they would have all voted the ones that did not.....Do you think that there would have been a million??? This is something to think about isn't it? I am not hanging my head in shame or feeling sad like Opra Winfry suggested that we felt, but I am praising my God and have Joy unspeakable and full of Glory!!!
