My life consists of working full-time at a pharmaceutical company and teaching Sunday school (Kindergarten class) My desire is to encourage others. My writings aren’t fancy words, but they are from the Lord. So many people are hurting, and I want to help all I can while I am still alive. My passion is elderly people and those who are shut-ins. There is a nursing home, Carrington Place, in the next county from where I live. After working 8-10 hrs a day, I go and spend time with those who have no one or just to talk and hear their stories every Thursday after work. Every Thursday is Thankful Thursday to me. ‘’ Facing the Giant with Confidence’’

Scripture Text: ‘’Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts (Psalms 139:23 KJV)
David learned the true meaning of trusting at a young age. The definition for trust is- a: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something b: one in which confidence is placed. (Merriam-Webster) He used this for his advantage to help him, when his sheep was attacked by a lion. The Lord delivered David from the being hurt from the lion. Goliath was roughly eleven feet and four inches tall. David had heard about this giant Goliath. David’s faith never wavered. The odds were against David, but he didn’t trust in the arm of flesh. His trust was only in the one true God. David didn’t have any experience, any military background, no appropriate gear, and he was young. David brother’s Eliab, Abinadab, Shammah ridiculed him for having a great desire to fight against the Goliath the Philistine. ‘’Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied’’ (1 Samuel 17:45 KJV) But, David trusted in his God. His key triumph wasn’t in his own capabilities, his own strength, and his own skillfulness. When the storms of life come upon us (and all of us will experience them) we can rise above them by setting our minds and our faith toward the Lord. The storms don’t have to triumph over us. We can allow the Lord’s power to lift us above them. The Lord makes it possible for us to ride the winds of the storms that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, aggravations, and frustrations in our lives. The Lord is good and His love for us endures forever. The Lord allows troubles, heartaches, pain, and afflictions to draw out the filthiness in our spirit. We all can become so harsh when troubles hang around. We will begin saying words that aren’t so pleasant. The Lord can and will change our conditions that we are facing at this moment in time. When we hang onto a sour attitude it will poison our thoughts and in the long run it will take over us. We have to start dealing with the problems, and not act like we don’t have any problems. We can’t run from our problems, we have to face them. Keep in mind that we all go through hard times, sufferings, troubles, sicknesses and pain. There are many times we all have felt like the walls are closing in on us. We have to face this world with a heart that is pleasing to Him. We are the only bible some people read. You all stay encouraged and hang in there. The best is yet to come for you.
